Lush Haul: Yummy New Goodies!

Hi beauties! How was your 4th of July? Mine was incredible, and consisted of lots of fireworks and wine ;)

Today I'm recovering, and am about to take a Lush bath; you guys know how I feel about those! I realized that the last time I went to Lush I never shared what I purchased, so I thought a blog haul was in order. If you watched my latest bathroom tour video, then you have seen some of these products, but I thought a little blog ramble about what I think of each one would still be fun.

First up, I picked up 3 "baggie" products. These are products that come in a cute little paper sack when you purchase them, as opposed to a bottle or jar. The first is that green little ball of fun at the top of the picture, the Lush Sugar Scrub. This little guy is Lush's answer to cellulite, and features fair trade sugar, ginger and fennel. The sugar is a gentle exfoliater, and the ginger and fennel work to stimulate circulation which in turn helps with cellulite and unwanted bumps and lumps. It also features calming lavender to help balance your skin. I keep this in one of the Lush Body Butter Tins in order to keep it from washing away in the shower, and I keep it out of direct water. I just break off a little piece and use this to exfoliate my backside, hips and upper thighs in the shower, and so far I'm loving it! Have I noticed an actual difference? No, but then again, I don't have a huge problem with cellulite. I'm not sure it's meant to be a miracle product anyway, but it does work nicely and I'm happy with using it as a preventative measure. It's $6.25 and contains 3.5 ounces of sugary scrub.

The second product is that cream-speckled square featured in the picture above. It's name is Buffy, and it has been one of my favorites for years. It used to be called "Buffy the Backside Slayer", which I thought was quite amusing, but now it just goes by Buffy the Body Butter. I purchased the smaller one, priced at $11.95, but they also sell a larger one for $22.95. I have gone back and forth between this one and the similar Aqua Mirabilis, but since it is summer I opted for the more exfoliating Buffy. This baby has ground rice and almonds to exfoliate your skin, with cocoa and shea butters to keep your skin nourished. I use this in my shower, and afterwards I don't even need to moisturize because it's so soft. It smells quite herbal and reminds me of the Lush store; I think this is a quintessential Lush product that everyone should try.

The strawberry-shaped product pictured above is the Strawberry Feels Forever Massage Bar. I absolutely adore Lush's Massage Bars; they are solid massage oil bars that you use on dry skin to infuse mega-moisturization into your skin. They melt with your body heat, releasing an amazingly luxurious oil that soaks into your skin. Every single one that I've tried I've loved, and I have a wish list a mile long of more that I want to try. This one smells of strawberries and coconut, and I can't believe I've never tried it. It actually features crushed strawberries and an infusion of hibiscus flowers, and fans of the old Yummy Yummy Yummy shower gel will recognize a bit of that scent as well. According to their website, this massage bar was actually created when a bit of the Yummy Yummy Yummy scent was added to a massage bar and smelled so amazing that the inventors had to keep it. It's a very feminine scent, and one I would definitely recommend trying.

Next I have 4 "bottled" products. Three belong in my shower, and one lives in my nightstand. Let's start with the shower goodies. I Love Juicy Shampoo is actually formulated for oily hair, but after smelling it in the store I knew I had to try it. I decided to pick up the smallest bottle and use it as a twice-monthly clarifying shampoo, to avoid drying my hair out whilst still getting to try this fruity shampoo. It smells of pineapple, mango, and kiwi, and features sea salt for volume and seaweed extract to soften your hair. The 3 fruits selected are all slightly acidic, which helps mop of excess oil and help clarify your scalp. I think this will be perfect for those days where my hair is well overdue for a wash, has had lots of product used on it, and just needs a really good deep clean. Plus, after looking over the ingredients I think this little guy will have to accompany me to the beach next week - sea salt and seaweed? It screams "I love the beach! Take me with you!" And I will. *Packs this in my suitcase*

P.S. Doesn't it remind you of Blair a little? Like it was named after her! "I love JuicyStar!" :)

Happy Hippy is also one that I bought based on the scent alone. I must have been in the mood for super fruity products this trip, because typically when I go to Lush I'm attracted to the more herbal scents... but based on my haul there was something about these fruity, summery products that made me have to have them. Happy Hippy smelled so good that I bought the bigger size; I just knew it was going to be a favorite! It cost $18.95, which is quite expensive for a shower gel, but trust me... if you like the sound of this shower goodie you would have had to have it too! It's marketed as a "revitalizing grapefruit wash for gloomy mornings", and is one of Lush's bestsellers because on the scent. It is bursting with a citrus, happy scent and is super cleansing to give your morning a boost. Zippy grapefruit and bergamot oils are also meant to work on tired minds, giving you a mental energy boost. Plus, it's very cleansing and refreshing for your skin. I intend to save this for mornings where I need a bit more pep in my step. Ahh... I can't get over how happy this smells!

Almond and Coconut Smoothie is a product that I've never tried before, and honestly was purchased on a bit of a whim. I had made all of my selections and was waiting for Blair to finish shopping, so I was doing a bit of random poking around at products, smelling and trying the samples when I came across this one. As soon as the scent hit my nose it went into my basket. This is a conditioning body wash with creamy almond and coconut oil to gently cleanse and care for dry skin. It's hydrating, nourishing, and features jasmine, ylang ylang, and vanilla to leave your skin soft and smelling like a baked treat. This smells delicious, and will be perfect for an evening when I want to wind down. Plus, just a little trick, the sales girl said that she likes to crumble her Sugar Scrub in her Shower Smoothie to create a conditioning and sugary treatment and says it's her secret concoction... I might have to try this! I love shopping at Lush because almost every employee has one of these secret "magic potions" that are amazing... and ones you might not ever think to combine yourself.

The Tea Tree Water Toner I keep in my nightstand, and use it to spray on my face and pillow on nights where my skin is breaking out. It's too harsh for my dry skin as an everyday thing, but around "that time of month" I think this will be perfect! It's antibacterial and helps balance skin tone and reduce redness, and is alcohol-free. This plus my Grease Lightning is my "bad skin day" superhero combo.

Last but not least, the lovely sales girl added two samples to my bag. The first is Rehab, which is a shampoo that she insisted I would adore. It's meant for damaged hair that's been colored or heat-styled, and is all about bringing life back to your hair and scalp. It has citrus juices with active enzymes to clarify and herbs to nourish your scalp. It also has olive and jojoba oils to return strength and flexibility to abused hair. Plus, it has a bit of peppermint to stimulate your scalp. Now that I'm researching this product, it sounds amazing! I think I'll try it tonight, actually.

The second sample is the barely legible Skin's Shangri La, which is a nourishing moisturizer for your face. It's marketed towards mature skin but is perfect for anyone with overly dry skin. It has soothing aloe vera, jojoba oil, and Queen of Hungary water, which is a mixture of water, vodka, and rosemary known to tighten and firm fine lines. The website says, "27 shots of vodka in every batch of this product hardly seems like the mature choice, but trust us and treat your skin to our nutrient rich mixture." Overall this product sounds incredible, and I'm so happy that she gave me this sample to try!

Sigh... I love Lush :) I'm just happy sitting here thinking about all of these goodies! I think I'm off to take a bath now and make use of some of these, but please let me know if you have a Lush "secret combination" or just a favorite product that you think I'd love! And if you have any questions about Lush or any of these products let me know in a comment - I will try to write back to as many as I can!

P.S. If you make a purchase at a Lush store make sure to ask for samples! Also, every time I have placed an order online they have added a sample or two in my box :) It's a great way to find new products to try and potentially love!

And, if you haven't watched already, check out my bathroom tour video here!

I love your blog and your blog posts are really fun to read! I actually went to LUSH a couple weeks ago, and was intrigued by the Grease Lightning spray. Unfortunately, I didn't end up purchasing that product. But I was just wondering how well it works. I'd love it if you could reply. :)

I really want to try their hair products, like their shampoos. I think the most popular I have hears great reviews of is the salt shampoo (i forget it's actually name). If you know what I am talking about can you do a review on that, or maybe reply?

Plus I added my kiss to the cruelty free kisses that's going on today. I was treated to a mint juleps lip scrub and some of their yummy lip stick gloss to do my kiss with. I actually got 20% off my order for getting my boyfriend to put on lip stick to add his kiss. I had to make it up to him though. Lol.

I found that when I bought the larger Buffy that it went rotten if I didn't use it within 1-2 months, even if i cut off chunks to use in the shower the rest of it that was dry and outside my shower went bad! It was REALLY gross:( but if you buy the smaller one it was awesome, so I would recommend just buying the smaller version and using it up before buying another!

  59. There aren't too many Lush stores in Australia, so imagine my delight when I moved last year and there was a Lush at my local Shopping centre. Been making way too many Lush hauls as a result.

After another brand shampoo wrecked my hair, the lovely girls at Lush prescribed me Rehab and Soak And Float. I do my first wash with Rehab then follow up with Soak And Float because I need to wash twice. I follow with American Cream. It's love! It has transformed my hair.

I have many young customers around 13 and 14 years old who come in and mention your videos and how they heard about our products and I can't help but gush with them at the age of 18 since you were my go-to gal when I was their age.
